The great thing about March is that it means summer is on the way out, and Autumn (cooler and a lot more pleasant days) creeping in.

From a cultural festival to an eat-all-you-can event, from indoor events (like escape games) to outdoor experiences (like cruising a marine park) there’s a whole lot of ways you can have a memorable March out here in Perth.

CELEBRATE WORLD WILDLIFE DAY AT THE HERDSMAN LAKE DISCOVERY CENTRE

One of the things that makes Australia such a great place is our great outdoors…miles and miles of wilderness teeming with incredible wildlife.

And one of the things that makes Perth so amazing is that you don’t actually have to go backpacking through the wilderness to catch a glimpse of all that wildlife…

Why would you, when we have the excellent Herdsman Centre, where you can go on birdwalks, take part in interactive sessions and classes held by the staff on wildlife topics, and watch as the little ones frolic around in Nature Playgroups?

March 3rd, Thursday, is World Wildlife Day, and visiting the Herdsman Centre is one of the best ways to celebrate that day!

Note: Entry is free for for the Friends of WA Gould League and Event Participants.

GO FOR A SWIM AT ONE OF THE SWIMMING HOLES NEAR PERTH

Perth’s coastline (and thereby the ocean) notwithstanding, nothing can quite match the charm of going for a swim at one of the many swimming holes around Perth.

Whether you want to actively cut through the water or just lazily float in the calm, taking in the sights and sounds of the surroundings, our swimming holes (that can be anything from a lake to a fall and sometimes even a dam) have an attraction that is unique.

And going for a swim in one should certainly be in your March schedule for Perth.

Dunno which one to choose?

BITE INTO BRUCE WAYNE BURGERS FROM GRILL’D

Fans of the caped crusader across the world have something big to look forward to, in March – the release of the long-awaited The Batman, starring Robert Pattison.

Fans of Batman in Australia have TWO things to look forward to in March.

One is of course the movie.

The other is the Bruce Wayne Burger released by Grill’d, in honour of Gotham’s best-known superhero.

Made with “a grass-fed Australian beef pattie, brie cheese, Spanish onion, Hawthorn hot sauce and double truffle mayo.”, (that’s a direct quote)…this is one burger that may well find its way onto your Instagram feed!

HAVE A GO AT BEATING PERTH’S YOUNGEST (AND MOST EXCITING) ESCAPE GAME!

If a violin-playing, pipe-smoking (although some modern interpretations have left the pipe out) and sometimes wisecracking is more to your taste than a masked superhero, or…

If actively taking part in a game where you have to solve puzzles, do tasks and uncover clues is more your thing than watching a movie sitting in a theatre, then…

Check out Perth’s most exciting escape game yet!

Take on the role of Sherlock Holmes and lead your team on an adventure through a secret laboratory set up by your nemesis Professor M, as you try to find and destroy a dangerous weapon before it activates and destroys London.

Are you up for the challenge?

GO ON A FOODIE CHALLENGE AT SERVO

Transform your weekend afternoons into lazy rounds of self-indulgence as you head to to Servo in Leederville for 2 hours of free flowing food and drinks.

Challenge yourself to take advantage of the “endless afternoon” as much as you can, whilst being in a state to get yourself home (or wherever it is you’re going next) when time’s up and you gotta leave!

Takes place on Saturdays and Sundays, with sitting beginning at 3pm.

I’d give you some examples of the menu they have going right now, but a few quotes wouldn’t do it justice. Head over to their website and check it out for yourself!
